Virtual Flying Corps
An Aerial Gaming Group

Welcome

To the world of the Virtual Flying Corps. Most of us have had fantasies at one time or another of being a fighter pilot. Most of us are also now resigned to being passengers, but we don't need to be. Using our computers we can take to the skies whenever we choose and relive our dreams of battling the enemy and diving in and out of the clouds in our fighter planes. The wind whistling past as we dive for the "kill".

Our group flies together in an exciting new WWII sim called Wings of Prey. This sim has only been released for a few months and already has a solid world wide fan base with regular updates from the developers, and in my opinion is well worth the purchase price for the graphics alone! It is available on dvd in some countries already or as a download from YuPlay.com.

There are many similar sims out there and everyone should be able to find a program that will suit their taste, budget and computer equipment. On the Resources page you will find shortcuts to some of the more popular web sites that will assist you in making your decision.

This web site is all about YOU. You will soon find that there is no age barrier to joining our group of enthusiasts and there are folk playing Flight Simulators ranging in age from 10 to their 70's. The only requirement is that you have fun!

There are many ways to get started in the virtual skies. You can choose to fly modern day planes, WWII planes or WWI planes in a sim that you purchase from a store or you can purchase online from a download site such as Thirdwire.com. You can also choose to play in an onlinegame for a small monthly fee. The advantage of a subscription sim is usually that you get an easier connection and introduction into playing your game with lots of other players online to give assistance and tips to enhance your flying. Warbirds are offering a one month free trial period and Aces High a 2 weeks free play to all who join.

Note: To enhance your online flying experience you should download Teamspeak or Ventrilo so you can talk to your squad mates as you fly with them. See the resources page for details.
